Warner Robins Continues Demolition In Latest Step Toward Downtown Revitalization

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The city of Warner Robins demolished another building along North Davis Drive Wednesday as part of its ongoing effort to establish its own downtown district under a long-term initiative called Operation Reawaken.

The plan envisions a multistory “work, live, play” community, with business space on the ground floor and residential units above in a single mixed-use building.

Mayor LaRhonda Patrick said the demolition is a milestone in a commitment she and the city council made years ago and have worked steadily to fulfill.

“This means promises made and promises kept,” Patrick said. “That’s what this means. Like I’ve said time and time again, in 2022 the council and I had a conversation, we locked arms and we agreed. And in five years we’ve come so far. People thought it would never happen and we have proved them wrong.”
