First weekend of 2025 to be cold

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will remain below average into the first weekend of 2025 for Middle Georgia.
This Evening
First Friday around Middle Georgia has been sunny and seasonal as temperatures reached the upper 50s and lower 60s. The wind will slow some tonight as it remains out of the northwest at 5-12 mph, still gusting to 15-20 mph. Anyone going out later should layer up as temperatures will be in the 30s heading towards midnight. Overall lows will be in the mid to upper 20s overnight.
Tomorrow
Saturday will be sunny and a bit breezy as wind continues from the northwest at 5-12 mph, gusting to about 17 mph. Highs will reach the lower 50s across Middle Georgia.
Overnight will be cold as clouds fill in across the region. Expect lows to be around or just below freezing, however they should be a few degrees warmer than Friday night. Wind will initially flow from the north-northwest, however it will shift to out of the southeast ahead of Sunday morning.
Sunday
It will be a cloudier day Sunday following their arrival overnight Saturday. Early on will be dry, however a few showers will be possible in the afternoon and evening. Highs will reach the mid to upper 50s across the region with wind out of the south-southeast blowing in at 5-15 mph. Gusts will get stronger as the day goes on, potentially pushing 30+ mph into Sunday night. More rain is expected Sunday night and into Monday morning. Temperatures will be too cool for severe weather, however the warmest conditions overall this weekend will occur overnight Sunday into Monday.
