MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Middle Georgia will see things clear up on Wednesday following Tuesday’s wet weather.

Rain is ongoing across Middle Georgia and will likely last through the evening and into the early parts of tonight. The southeastern half of the region could see rain activity stick around past midnight. As a result of the muggy weather conditions will be quite warm tonight with lows expected in the low to mid 60s, or about 20 degrees above average. Sustained winds out of the south-southeast will range from 5-10 mph, however gusts will likely hover around the 20 mph mark.

A cloudy start is expected for Middle Georgians with a slim chance the far eastern reaches of the region are still seeing light showers. These clouds should start to clear out in the late morning hours for the northwestern counties and in the late afternoon for the southeastern counties. Highs are expected to reach the low to mid 70s across Middle Georgia as the wind flows from the west-northwest at 5-15 mph, gusting as high as 25 mph.

Overnight will be clear and chilly as northwest winds continue to gust to 20-25 mph. Low temperatures will fall into the lower 40s, or about 20 degrees below the wake-up temperatures Wednesday morning.

Thursday and Beyond

Thursday will be sunny and windy as highs reach the upper 50s and lower 60s with westerly wind flowing in at 8-17 mph, gusting to around 30 mph throughout the afternoon. Those winds will slow to end the week, however below average conditions will last into the weekend for both the afternoons and overnight.
