Rain odds elevate Wednesday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Scattered storms are likely around Middle Georgia Wednesday afternoon.
This Evening
It’s been a cooler day around the region courtesy of added cloud cover. Despite this, rain odds have stayed low through the afternoon and should stay that way this evening as well. The southernmost counties may see a shower or two this evening or overnight. Temperatures will bottom out in the low to mid 70s with ambient wind coming from the east-southeast around 5 mph.
Tomorrow
Another mostly cloudy day awaits Middle Georgia Wednesday with highs expected to reach the lower 90s. Isolated to scattered storms will begin in the afternoon and last through the evening before tapering off. Expect ambient wind from the east-southeast around 5 mph.
Tomorrow night will be partly cloudy with lows in the low to mid 70s. A shower or storm will be possible early. Ambient wind will be gentle from the south-southeast.
Independence Day
A bit more sun returns to the forecast Thursday and as a result highs will climb back into the mid to upper 90s with real feels in the triple digits. An isolated shower or storm will be possible late in the day, but odds for rain will be down a bit from Wednesday. Insect repellent is a must for anyone going to fireworks shows in the evening thanks to the muggy conditions.
The Tropics
Hurricane Beryl remains a formidable Category 4 Hurricane as it approaches Jamaica. Continued weakening is expected as it moves into a less favorable environment, however how quickly it will weaken remains to be seen. In more positive news, Invest 96L is losing organization behind Beryl and its odds for development continue to drop.
