Partly sunny skies in the evening will give way to mostly clear skies overnight tonight. A shower or storm is possible this evening, however the odds are low. Temperatures will hang in the mid to upper 80s through sunset before dropping into the upper 60s and lower 70s ahead of Friday morning. Ambient wind overnight will flow from the east-southeast at around 5 mph.

Skies will be mostly sunny to end the work week in Middle Georgia as temperatures surge into the upper 90s in the afternoon. One or two spots could potentially reach triple digits. A stray storm or shower cannot be ruled out in the afternoon or evening, but most of the region will again see no rain. Ambient wind will come from the northeast at around 5 mph.

This Weekend and Beyond

Saturday and Sunday will both be blazing hot with Saturday likely to bring triple digit highs to much of Middle Georgia. Sunday won’t be as hot, but upper 90s are still expected. This will be dangerous heat for anyone spending ample time outdoors, so breaks in the shade, hydration, and sunscreen will be a must. Rain odds will also continue to be limited to stray showers or storms in the afternoon and evening courtesy of high pressure over the Southeastern US. Temperatures will return to the lower 90s next week.
