Next rain on deck for Middle Georgia

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An incoming cold front will bring more rain to Middle Georgia starting Tuesday.
This Evening and Overnight
While there has been plenty of sun to begin the new week, clouds began to roll into the region this afternoon. That trend will continue through this evening and tonight. March’s Full Moon will be visible tonight, however the mostly cloudy skies will make it a bit difficult to see. Winds will come from the southeast at about 10-17 mph overnight, gusting as high as 25 mph. While rain is unlikely overnight, a small shower or two in the eastern counties cannot be ruled out. Low temperatures ahead of Tuesday morning will be in the mid to upper 50s.
Tomorrow
Skies will be mostly cloudy early with rain likely to move in to the northwestern counties during the late lunchtime hours. High temperatures will reach the low to mid 70s around the region. Winds will continue to be rather strong out of the south at 5-20 mph. Gusts over 30 mph will be likely as storms take over for the back half of the day.
Severe weather is not likely with tomorrow’s storms, however they will bring plenty of rain to an area where the water table is already high. Flooding could be an issue later in the week as the cold front stalls out.
Tomorrow night rain will likely continue, especially over the southeastern half of the region. Low temperatures will be in the low to mid 60s ahead of Wednesday.
Wednesday and Beyond
Wednesday will be a split forecast for the region with mostly cloudy but mostly dry conditions expected for the northwestern half, however the southeastern half will continue to see rain and overcast skies. This could lead to a flash-flooding threat over the southeastern part of Middle Georgia.
Clouds will work to clear out Thursday with the slight possibility for a shower. The work week will finish with sunny and warm conditions taking over ahead of the Easter Holiday weekend.
