5×5 program gears up in District 4

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon-Bibb government is pushing to have a cleaner city.

Officials are focusing on District 4 as the next area of concern.

District 4 Commissioner Mallory Jones says there are a few problem spots.

He mentioned a sidewalk on Forest Hill Road near The Prado, as well as garbage in gutters across the entire area.

Jones is excited to see different government departments work together.

“I’ve seen a lot of really good employees,” said Jones. “We’ve got a lot of good, caring conscientious employees of the new government. And very proud of what they do because they take their job seriously.”

Jones also said officials would be checking for smoke detectors and will make sure water meters work as well.
