2015 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship rolls into Lizella

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (NEXT LEVEL SPORTS) – The Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship, sanctioned by AMA (ATVMX), is the world’s longest-running and most prestigious ATV racing series. The 2015 season marks the 30th anniversary of this truly unique championship, which will visit some of the most well-known motocross tracks in the country over the course of a 10-round schedule that will ultimately crown a national champion.

On Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22, the series will travel to Middle Georgia for the first time in many years to kick off the 2015 championship with its anticipated return to Lizella’s Echeconnee MX, located a mere 15 minutes outside Macon. The Georgia National, presented by Kinsley Powersports, will welcome hundreds of riders from across the country will converge on the facility for two days of rugged competition for both professionals and amateurs alike.

Echeconnee is affectionately known as “ever rider’s favorite track” thanks to its distinction of being the premier sand track of the Southeastern United States. Its natural terrain is full of elevation changes and boasts a challenging track that will push lap times into the two-minute range. Echeconnee has established itself as one of the most renowned tracks in the country thanks to its unique traits and has hosted many prominent amateur motocross events in recent years. The debut of ATVMX signifies another landmark event for the facility.

The Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship is the world’s premier showcase of four-wheeled off-road racing talent. The physically demanding sport forces riders to navigate a variety of obstacles as fast as possible over the course of two 15-minute motos, while controlling a 400-pound machine and battling alongside 20 other competitors, each with the same common goal of victory. It’s a true battle of man, machine and the will to win, and the mental and physical strength needed to become a champion makes these riders some of the toughest athletes on the planet.

With the 2015 season quickly approaching, the pressure sits squarely in the possession of reigning three-time AMA Pro ATV champion Chad Wienen. The Illinois native has become one of the sport’s most dominant figures during his run towards three consecutive titles, but his quest for a fourth championship will undoubtedly be the toughest challenge of his career as a long list of exceptional talent is ready to do whatever it takes to bring Wienen’s reign to an end.

The opening round of the 2015 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship from Echeconnee MX kicks off on Saturday, March 21, and continues on Sunday, March 22, with a full slate of action throughout each day.
