UPDATE: Woman killed, man hospitalized after gunfire on Pio Nono Avenue
Deputies found 22-year-old Soraya Kiara Woodley dead and a 21-year-old man wounded near Pio Nono and Hillcrest avenues.
UPDATE: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says a 21-year-old man was found with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene where 22-year-old Soraya Kiara Woodley was killed Monday night.
The shooting was reported at 5:31 p.m. in the 800 block of Pio Nono Avenue. Deputies responded to the intersection of Pio Nono Avenue and Hillcrest Avenue, where they found Woodley unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
Deputy Coroner Luann Stone pronounced Woodley dead at the scene. Her family has been notified.
Paramedics took the man to a local hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. The sheriff’s office has not identified him or explained what led to the shooting.
No other injuries were reported.
Pio Nono Avenue was blocked earlier but has since reopened. The investigation remains active.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 22-year-old woman has died after a shooting near Hillcrest and Pio Nono Monday night, according to Coroner Leon Jones.
Jones identified the woman as Soraya Woodley. He told 41NBC he was on the way to the scene around 6 p.m.
He says her family has been notified.
No information has been released about what led to the shooting or whether anyone has been arrested.
