2011 Masters Tournament Forecast
With the Par 3 Contest of the 2011 Masters Tournament kicking off today, many from Middle Georgia and from the rest of the nation will pack up their cars and head to Augusta National Golf Club for the most sacred tournament in the world of golf.
The weather in Augusta looks to be on the side of the pros! The forecast for today brings abundant sunshine with high temperatures in the low to mid 70s. Winds will be out of the south between 6 and 8 mph.
The course closes at 6:30 this evening, but if you’re headed up for the Par 3 Contest today, and you want to take in all that Augusta has to offer, this evening is going to be beautiful. We’ll see mostly clear skies, with a low around 47 degrees. Winds will be light and from the south.
Thursday marks the start of the Competitive Round. Conditions for the day are also going to be spectacular! We’ll see plenty of sunshine with a high temperature of 79 degrees. Winds will be calm, becoming south between 6 and 9 mph.
Friday expect mostly sunny skies, with a high near 82 degrees. Winds will be calm, becoming west between 8 and 11 mph.
Saturday’s Competitive Round looks to be mostly sunny, with a high near 85 degrees.
A Green Jacket and blue skies are in the forecast for Sunday — the last day of the tournament. Highs will be near 86 degrees.
Just who will wear that Green Jacket? Will it be Tiger Woods, who as the fifth best golfer in the world, sits at his lowest rank since 1997? Or will it be one of 98 other contenders?
