World Series run ends in semifinals for 10U Jones County Softball All-Stars

WEST MONROE, Louisiana (41NBC/WMGT) – Jones County National League’s 10U Softball All-Stars made it all the way to the semifinals at the Dixie World Series.

Their run ended Tuesday night with a 10-1 loss to South Carolina (Latta), which advances to Wednesday’s championship round.

After winning the state tournament, Georgia (Jones County) opened play at the World Series with a 3-1 win over Virginia (Dinwiddie). It fell into the loser’s bracket after an 11-1 loss to Louisiana’s West Monroe, the host team and one of two Bayou State teams in the tournament.

Georgia outscored its next two opponents (Tennessee and Mississippi, respectively) 15-4 to advance to the semifinals.
