Wheeler County deputies arrest man wanted in Bleckley County

GLENWOOD, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Dublin man is accused of stealing a car from a rehab center in Bleckley County.

Wheeler County sheriff’s deputies arrested 29 year-old Jimmy Lyons Sunday night. Sheriff Maurice Johnson said a Glenwood police officer saw Lyons drive by city hall in the stolen car. The officer pulled Lyons over and searched Lyons for weapons. During the search, the officer found methamphetamine and other drug related objects.

The Bleckley County Sheriff’s Office said Lyons is wanted for stealing the car from the Promise of Hope Rehab Facility in Cochran on September 17.

Lyons is being held at the Wheeler County jail. He’s charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects.

Sheriff Johnson said Lyons will be sent to Bleckley County once he bonds out of the Wheeler County jail.
