Warner Robins teacher named Georgia Teacher of the Year
Amanda Miliner is scheduled to compete on the national level next year, after clinching the state title.
Miliner beat 179 teachers from across the state, to win “Georgia Teacher of the Year,” award.
She says having a great rapport with her students makes it easy for her to teach.
Miliner has two children and says being a mom has given her more insight into how to effectively teach her students.
She believes all children are capable of learning.
“I want the students that maybe no one else understands,” says Miliner. “I want to get them. Because, I know there is potential in all these students and they deserve to have at least one person to be an advocate for them.”
This is not the first time miliner has won a title. In 2007 as, Miss. Warner Robins she won the Miss. Georgia pageant.
Miliner has taught at Miller Elementary School for four years and says teaching has always been her passion.
