Warner Robins police K-9s get new bulletproof vests

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Warner Robins police canines have new gear that will help protect them while they’re working.

The department received new, free bulletproof vests for each of their four narcotics dogs. The agency participated in a nationwide Groupon event that partnered with a non-profit to buy the vests.

“We know that these dogs and our officers are put into dangerous situations and we want to give them the best security that we can to keep them safe because they’re part of the family just like everybody else is,” Sgt. James Bish said.

The non-profit, Vested Interest, provided more than 350 law enforcement dogs with the vests across the country. All the departments had to do was ask.
