Warner Robins man sentenced after crashing stolen Humvee into Army building
Army retiree ordered to pay nearly $580,000 after driving stolen vehicle into headquarters building

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A Warner Robins man will spend nearly three years in federal prison after investigators say he stole a military vehicle and drove it into an Army headquarters building.
Treamon Dominic Lacy, 42, was sentenced to 33 months in prison after being convicted of theft and damage of government property, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Georgia.
The case stems from a July 2023 incident at Fort Stewart, where prosecutors said Lacy, a retired Army staff sergeant, used his familiarity with military operations to gain access to the installation.
Once inside, investigators said he entered a motor pool, took a Humvee, and drove it to a building used by the U.S. Army’s Third Infantry Division. He then drove the vehicle into the front entrance.
No one inside the building was injured.
In addition to prison time, U.S. District Judge J. Randal Hall ordered Lacy to pay nearly $580,000 in restitution and serve three years of supervised release after his sentence. Federal inmates do not receive parole.
U.S. Attorney Margaret E. Heap said the outcome reflects the seriousness of the incident.
“It’s a miracle no one was injured or killed, and this sentence holds him accountable for his actions,” Heap said.
Authorities said Lacy was taken into custody at the scene by military police. He was later indicted in August 2023 and convicted at trial in September 2025.
