Macon-Bibb EMA to give away free weather radios August 26
The giveaway will take place Wednesday, August 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Macon Mall.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency will give away free weather radios later this month as part of an effort to help residents prepare for severe weather.
The giveaway will take place Wednesday, August 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Macon Mall.
According to EMA, the radios provide alerts directly from the National Weather Service for threats including tornadoes, severe thunderstorms and flash flooding.
Radios will be available while supplies last and are limited to one per household. Anyone who received a free weather radio during EMA’s February giveaway is not eligible to receive another one at this event.
The giveaway is part of Macon-Bibb County’s recognition of National Emergency Management Awareness Month in August.
EMA also encourages residents to have multiple ways to receive emergency alerts and to have a household emergency plan in place.
