Man wanted in death of Warm Springs police officer considered armed and dangerous

Authorities are searching for a 23-year-old man wanted in connection with the death of a Warm Springs Police Department officer.

WARM SPRINGS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT-DT) – Authorities are searching for a 23-year-old man wanted in connection with the death of a Warm Springs Police Department officer.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says Jimmie Steverson is wanted in connection with the death of Officer Chris Fisher. The incident happened just before midnight Monday in Warm Springs.

Steverson is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He has black locs and brown eyes.

Authorities say he was last seen in Warm Springs wearing a black T-shirt and black gym shorts. He was traveling in a black 2026 Chevrolet Silverado.

Steverson is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities are warning people not to approach him and to call 911 immediately if they see him or notice suspicious activity.
