Valdosta’s Exum wins Georgia-Alabama showdown in Cochran

COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Valdosta’s Cole Exum grabbed the lead from pole sitter Russell Brown (Valdosta) and held him off for the win Saturday at Cochran Motor Speedway.

Exum’s win came in the Georgia-Alabama Poole’s Service Center of Helena, Ga. Sportsman Showdown.  Danny Stoud of Phenix City, Ala. finished third, Josh Taylor of Ellaville finished four and Macon’s Billy Nipper came home fifth.

In othe racing action, Danville’s Bubba Howell won the Pure Stock feature, Cochran’s Dustin Miller won Super Street, Dublin’s Blake Smith won Late Model and Dublin’s Robbie Bland won Bomber.

$3,000 will be up for grabs on Saturday, October 11 when the Bomber Division hits the track for a 30-lap feature race.  The ‘Middle Georgia State Championship Race’ will be held October 18.
