UPDATE: Arrest made after woman found dead at Sanford Arms Apartments in Macon

Deputies found the woman during a missing person investigation Thursday morning.

UPDATE (9/30/25): A 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of Teasha Ariele Colbert this month.

According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, the sheriff’s office’s Violent Crime Unit and the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force took Snapper Orlando Brundage into custody in Atlanta just after 1 p.m. Tuesday.

He was taken to the Bibb County Jail in Macon, where he’s charged with murder and is being held without bond.


ORIGINAL STORY (9/11/25):

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –  The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a woman found Thursday morning at Sanford Arms Apartments in Macon.

The apartments are located near Shurling Drive and Gray Highway.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, deputies responded to the 1300 block of Sanford Avenue around 8:15 a.m. to investigate a missing person report. When they got there, they found 42-year-old Teasha Ariele Colbert of Macon unresponsive inside an apartment. Coroner Leon Jones pronounced her dead at the scene.

“So when they went in to look in the apartment, unfortunately found a Black female dead, stuffed in a trash can,” Jones told reporters at the scene.

The sheriff’s office said Colbert’s family has been notified. It has not released further details.
