UPDATE (7/10/25): Two people have been arrested in connection to a July 4 shooting on Sparkle Avenue that left a 24-year-old man in critical condition, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation led deputies with the Criminal Investigations Division and Gang Unit, along with members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, to make arrests during a traffic stop around 10 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Fairfax Drive and Bloomfield Road.

Deputies say 18-year-old Dontavis Anquan Jackson of Macon and an unidentified male passenger ran from the vehicle but were caught after a short foot chase.
