UGA appeal denied, Gurley returns November 15 against Auburn

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (41NBC/WMGT) – UGA’s appeal to have its star player back for the Florida game has been denied.

The NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee upheld its original ruling Thursday that said Todd Gurley could return November 15 against Auburn.

In a statement released after the committee’s announcement, UGA said it is “very disappointed“ and it believed its case to have Gurley reinstated was “strong and compelling.”

The No. 11 Bulldogs (6-1, 4-1 SEC) play Florida (3-3, 2-3 SEC) Saturday in Jacksonville. Kickoff is at 3:30.
