Twiggs County Public Schools off state failing schools list

JEFFERSONVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Twiggs County Public Schools says it is off the state’s failing schools list.

The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement’s 2017 College and Career Ready Performance Index was released today revealing that all schools in Twiggs County are above the state average.

The CCRPI is an accountability system that calculates which schools have a score that is in the bottom 5% of the state.

The district says Georgia’s Chief Turnaround Officer will use the information to decide which schools need state intervention within the coming months.

The Twiggs County Public Schools district is also among the districts in Georgia with a 90% or higher graduation rate.
