Twiggs County elementary school starts construction on new gym

JEFFERSONVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Local school leaders gathered in Twiggs County Thursday afternoon to break ground for a new gymnasium at Jeffersonville Elementary School.
The new building will be state-of-the-art with basketball goals and two classrooms. The gym will be paid for with funds raised from the 2014-2015 ESPLOST.  “This community saw fit to approve an ESPLOST that would… afford us the opportunity to build this gymnasium that our students have never had”, said Twiggs County School District Superintendent Elgin Dixon.
Construction is expected to be complete this spring.
