Trump supporters react to Pence rally in Perry
PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Donald Trump and Mike Pence supporters expressed why they attended a Pence rally at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry on Monday.
“Well just because he’s on the ticket, Jerry Bradley from Warner Robins said. “He’s with Donald Trump and that’s the man I’m backing. because I believe he’s what we need for this nation, it’s been deteriorating for eight years. ”
Many of the supporters expressed their enthusiasm for Donald Trump with shirts, hats and pins. Merchandise was being sold by vendors in the parking lot. But they also expressed a fear of a Hillary Clinton White House, which to them, would be more of the same.
“She’s basically already established herself as being the third term of Obama and we don’t need that,” Bradley said.
Bradley’s positioned was echoed by others.
“I’m sick and tired of what’s been gong on in this country the last eight years,” Bob Berghult, a rally-goer said. “And things have to change.”
One man that spoke to 41NBC wouldn’t give his name but wanted Pence to reinforce the policy of building a wall along the southern border.
“I mean if the Chinese can build a wall that’s 13,000 miles long then we can build ones that’ 1000 miles long,” he said.
One thing all Trump supporters we spoke to could agree on: a dislike for Hillary Clinton.
“The lying, the cheating, the pay for play…” one person said. Another called her a liar.
A Trump delegate from Albany gave women who are considering voting for Clinton this pitch:
“I think voting for Hillary is like drinking antifreeze because it’s the same color as Gatorade.”
Pence holds a rally Monday night in Atlanta and in Dalton on Tuesday.
