President Donald Trump is set for high-stakes meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

(NBC)- President Donald Trump is set for high-stakes meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the war with Iran raises concerns about U.S. weapons supplies.

Zelenskyy is pressing Washington for additional American missile defense systems as questions mount over whether the U.S. stockpile is being strained by the conflict with Iran.

Trump said the United States still has plenty of ammunition but acknowledged he would like to have more.

The U.S. and Iran again held off on exchanging strikes overnight as Trump pointed to the recent fighting as a factor pushing Tehran toward negotiations.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry, however, denied that direct talks with Washington were taking place.

Trump also traveled to Michigan, where he promoted Republican candidates with fewer than 100 days until the midterm elections and focused heavily on the economy.

The president pointed to falling oil prices amid hopes for renewed negotiations with Iran. During a visit to a General Motors facility, Trump also argued that his tariffs have benefited the American auto industry.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent predicted the economic picture would improve before the November elections, saying inflation would decline and the “feel-good factor” would return.

Trump, however, insisted he does not feel pressure to quickly end the war with Iran despite opposition to the conflict among American voters.
