Traffic accident on I-75 leaves man injured, drunk driver involved

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb County deputies arrested a Warner Robins man for drunk driving after a major traffic incident and road delay in South Bibb County.

Around 2:44 a.m. this morning, a tractor trailer and 2013 Toyota Camry collided on Interstate 75 near exit 153, Sardis Church Road.

Deputies say 49-year-old Arthur Donnell Rolack drove in the opposite direction-in the southbound lane-hitting 40-year-old Quentin Thomas in his tractor trailer.

Reports say Rolack was under the influence, and did not have his headlights on during the incident.

The tractor trailer Thomas drove, and the food items it carried were damaged after his vehicle caught on fire.

Thomas was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia for burns and other injuries.

He is listed in stable condition.

According to a news release, Rolack was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving the wrong way on a roadway, driving without headlights at night, serious injury by motor vehicle and driving while license suspended revoked.

Crews worked to clean up the scene till 9:00 a.m.
