The dog days of summer have arrived

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – It’s that time of year where every afternoon is hot and muggy and an isolated storm is the best way to hope for a cooldown each day.
This Evening
A partly cloudy and hot afternoon will become a mostly clear and muggy night as temperatures valley in the low to mid 70s, or a few degrees above average for this time of year. The wind will be light from the southwest around 5-10 mph. While patchy fog will be possible with the low amount of rain seen this evening will make it difficult to form.
Tomorrow
Hump day will be another hot and muggy afternoon with overall limited rain chances. Temperatures will peak in the mid to upper 90s with real feels eclipsing 100 degrees in many spots. Rain odds will be limited to a third of the region or less, so those looking for a way to beat the heat will need to take shelter indoors at times. The wind will flow from the west-southwest at 5-12 mph.
Most of any clouds from the afternoon will clear through the evening however a handful will stick around into the night. Temperatures will again valley in the low to mid 70s as the wind remains light from the west-southwest.
Thursday and Beyond
The current pattern will continue Thursday however the rain odds may be slightly higher. Overall the rain odds will be less than 50% across the region until the coming weekend. A cold front Sunday/Monday of next week could cool temperatures down a bit to begin the next work week.
