MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges tied to an incident involving campus police and a probation violation, according to prosecutors.

The Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office says Terrell Williams was sentenced April 29 after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a first offender probationer, willful obstruction of an officer and removal of a weapon from a public official.

Prosecutors say the charges stem from an October 20, 2025 incident at Central Georgia Technical College. They say Williams, a student at the time, was being taken into custody on a probation warrant when he resisted arrest, leading to a struggle with campus officers.

According to prosecutors, officers deployed a Taser twice during the encounter, but Williams continued to resist and briefly gained control of the device before officers regained it. Williams was eventually taken into custody after several minutes.

At the time, Williams was on First Offender probation for aggravated assault and reckless conduct, which prohibited him from possessing a firearm.

Prosecutors say his First Offender status has been revoked, meaning the conviction will remain on his record.
