Sunny skies return Tuesday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Sunny skies and below average temperatures will be back for Middle Georgia Tuesday after the passing of a slow cold front.

This Evening

Scattered showers and storms will continue across Middle Georgia through the remainder of Monday. By midnight most of the rain should be done, however some activity may still linger in the southeastern counties. A flood watch is in effect until 8 PM this evening for the northwestern half of the region. Clouds will work to clear out overnight and skies should be clear by sunrise Tuesday. Expect low temperatures in the mid to upper 40s as the wind flows from the northwest at 6-13 mph. Gusts could push 20+ mph.

Skies will be clear around Middle Georgia with temperatures that peak in the upper 60s for most of the region. The warmest spots will likely reach 70 degrees. Wind will be breezy from the north-northwest at 7-12 mph. Gusts will likely range from 15-25 mph throughout the afternoon.

Skies will stay clear tomorrow night as temperatures drop to around the 40 degree mark. Expect wind from the north-northwest at 5-10 mph with gusts pushing to around 15.

Sunny skies are likely again Wednesday as highs reach the low to mdi 70s. Temperatures will warm through Thursday before another cold front brings some showers and perhaps a few storms overnight into Friday morning. That will drop afternoon temperatures back into the 60s again ahead of the weekend.
