Sunny skies and below average temperatures return to Middle Georgia Thursday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A cold front passing through Middle Georgia this evening will drop the humidity and temperatures for the last days of the work week.

A partly cloudy afternoon will see a lot of clouds clear out through the evening hours and the overnight skies should largely be clear. Temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 50s across the region by sunrise tomorrow morning. The wind will flow from the northwest at 5-10 mph with gusts occasionally reaching as high as 15 mph.

Fully sunny skies should be with Middle Georgia all day on Thursday as temperatures reach the upper 70s and lower 80s, or about 5-7 degrees below average for this time of year. Expect a breezy afternoon with north-northwest winds flowing at 6-12 mph. Gusts should hover in the 15-20 mph range.

Overnight will be clear and cool with temperature valleys likely in the upper 40s for most of the region. These lows will be close to 10 degrees below normal. The wind will be light out of the north at around 5 mph.

Another sunny day is likely Friday with high temperatures closer to but still below the average for this time of year. Above average conditions will return this weekend thanks to high pressure on Friday shifting the wind from the north to the south. Conditions will also get muggier through the weekend with a few isolated storms possible beginning late Saturday/Sunday.
