MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Noticeable wind gusts will persist Wednesday afternoon as drier air fills into the Peach State.

This Evening

A partly sunny afternoon will become a mostly clear night across Middle Georgia. While a couple of showers remain possible this evening overnight rain is not expected. Temperatures should be a bit closer to average (but still above it) by Wednesday morning with most locations likely to valley in the upper 60s. The wind will flow generally out of the east through the overnight hours.

Tomorrow

Wednesday should be a bit cooler in the afternoon but highs in the lower 90s are still likely across the region. Skies will be partly sunny and the wind will again be breezy from the east-northeast at 5-12 mph. Gusts should range from 15-20 mph. No rain is expected.

Overnight will be clear and finally a bit cooler as temperatures drop into the mid 60s, or a degree or two below average for this time of year. The wind will still generally flow out of the east around 5 mph.

Thursday and Beyond

A sunny and almost seasonal (still a bit warm) day is likely Thursday as the humidity will be a good bit lower than earlier this week. However temperatures are still likely to reach into the 90s. The wind will be light and variable. Friday will start on a sunny note before clouds fill in during the afternoon. Some showers and storms look possible late Friday evening and into the overnight hours. More activity looks possible through the weekend as well.
