State Rep. reveals i-16 exit 1 to close end of July

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – State Representative James Beverly met with neighbors in East Macon to discuss major changes happening with construction on the i-16/i-75 project.

One of those changes includes closing down exit 1 on i-16 beginning the end of this month.

Representative Beverly says residents in East Macon would be directly impacted by the exit closure.

“That’s huge because that’s going to directly impact and ease the flow of traffic in and out of this area so that’s really big,” he said.

Beverly says the exit will be closed for a year if not several years. He wants to get the word out so people can be prepared and have their alternate routes ready.
