MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Some of boxing’s rising stars will be in town this weekend.

The Southeast Regional Junior Olympic Boxing Championships are Friday and Saturday at Macon-Bibb United Boxing Club’s Bishop Frank Ray Arena.

They’re coming from Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina, hoping to win and advance to nationals in West Virginia.

“You should come out,” Ernest Butts, boxing coordinator for Macon-Bibb United Boxing Club, says. “It’s a historical event. You might see somebody who might be a Floyd Mayweather. You might witness that.”

The tournament begins Friday at 4:30. It continues Saturday at 1.

Tickets are $10 per day or $15 for a 2-day pass. Kids 5 and under are free.

The Macon-Bibb United Boxing Club is located at 3301 Roff Avenue.
