Salvation Army feeds families at shelters affected by Hurricane Matthew
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Salvation Army did its part to help families in the East Macon Recreation Center.
They’ve cooked and delivered food since the shelters opened.
They serve all three meals, and cook in the kitchen at their offices on Broadway in Macon.
Major Frances Gillam says they’ve served 5,000 meals to four different shelters.
“There are about 600 people that have been, have come to us. we have been going three days a week, breakfast lunch and dinner,” said Gillam. “We’ve been going to these shelters and feeding them.”
