Traffic stop in Reynolds leads to arrest of parolee

Police say the suspect attempted to flee during the stop before being taken into custody.

REYNOLDS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A traffic stop in Reynolds led to the arrest of an absconded parolee facing multiple felony drug charges, according to the Reynolds Police Department.

Police say an officer stopped a vehicle Friday for an equipment violation and learned it was registered to a parolee wanted for felony methamphetamine trafficking.

During the stop, police say the driver, identified as 55-year-old Edward Pearce Horne, tried to flee in the vehicle, but officers were able to prevent the escape. The suspect then ran but was taken into custody after a brief chase.

Police say a search revealed a small amount of methamphetamine, marijuana and THC vape oil.

Horne was arrested and charged with parole violation, methamphetamine trafficking, possession of Schedule I and II controlled substances, obstruction of law enforcement, fleeing or attempting to elude police, possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects and improper display of a tag.
