Recycling cans added to Cherry Street in downtown Macon
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Recycling cans are the newest addition to downtown Macon.
The Urban Development Authority bought the cans, to help make downtown look better and expand recycling. There will be a total of 30 new recycling cans once they’re all installed.
“When people come here from out of town, they recycle also so they’ll have a place in the downtown area to drop their plastic bottles and cans here,” Kevin Barkley, Director of the Solid Waste Department said.
Recycling cans also help keep material from going into landfills. If you’d like a recycling can for your home, call Macon-Bibb Solid Waste at 478-803-0499.
