Amerson River Park playground to close temporarily for repairs
Officials say rain could delay the work and extend the closure beyond Friday.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The playground at Amerson River Park will temporarily close Thursday, November 5, and Friday, November 6, for repairs.
According to Macon-Bibb County, crews will replace three slides and the adventure tube. The bonded rubber ground covering will also be recoated, and sections around the poles will be replaced.
“With Amerson being one of our top destinations in the county and a major draw for the region, the playground is very heavily used, and we need to make some much-needed repairs,” said Parks and Beautification Director Michael Glisson.
