MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Isolated storms are likely around Middle Georgia before even more widespread chances take over Friday and into the weekend.

This Evening

It’s been a cloudier than expected afternoon across Middle Georgia which has resulted in many locations staying below 90 degrees. Despite the increased cloud cover however rain odds have remained limited to a few small showers. The odds for rain overnight are low as some cloud cover should clear this evening. Overall it will be a partly cloudy and above average night with most Middle Georgia locations likely to only drop into the lower 70s. A few spots should still crack into the upper 60s. The wind will flow from the southeast around 5 mph. A bit of fog will be possible around the sunrise on Thursday.

Tomorrow

More clouds than sun is expected again Thursday afternoon with the possibility of a bit under half of Middle Georgia could see rain throughout the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will largely reach the lower 90s accompanied by light and variable winds. Severe weather is not expected.

Overnight will be partly cloudy and a bit muggier as all of Middle Georgia should remain above 70 degrees by Friday morning. The wind will be light out of the south-southwest and patchy fog will be possible leading into Friday morning as well.

Friday and Beyond

Beginning Friday storm odds should reach 50% or greater for Middle Georgia with that trend carrying into the weekend. There will be plenty of cloud cover and humidity as temperatures hover close to 90 degrees through the weekend with heat index values into the mid to upper 90s. Some of the more intense storms could bring frequent lightning as well as wind gusts over 40 mph. This pattern will carry into the first half of next week.
