Post-Christmas shoppers aim for good deals

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Not all of those Christmas gifts went over so well.

There were a lot of returns to be made.

If you thought shopping before Christmas was crazy, after is just as bad.

“Yes, today we’ve have had plenty of gift cards and returns, it’s the day after Christmas so,” said Dry Falls Outfitters associate Anna McNeal.

The day after Christmas, and over at Dry Falls, the sales are going on, and returns are off the walls.

“It’s been mostly just the wrong sizes and then they’ll come back to exchange for a different size,” said McNeal.

Anna McNeal is an associate at dry falls outfitters at the Macon Mall.

It could be one of the busiest shopping days of the year.

“This is just a big day–you’ve got a mix of returns and purchases so it’s definitely pretty busy,” said McNeal.

And customers know when you spend, the economy wins.

“People want the Christmas gifts, and once they get the money they directly want to go spend it, people just don’t get out and shop as much so the alternative is like a gift card or cash,” said McNeal. “I think that’s why it’s so much the day after Christmas because are eager to go spend the money.”
