Pioneer Little League Softball to represent Georgia at regional tournament

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – It just wasn’t meant to be for Warner Robins American Little League’s 12U Softball All-Stars.

The girls led Pioneer Little League by at least two runs twice Thursday in the state championship but were unable to take down the visitors from Columbus.

Pioneer trailed 4-1 midway through the fourth inning and 6-4 midway through the sixth.

Mac Lee’s RBI single to left-center field in the bottom of the sixth gave Pioneer the state’s only bid to the Little League Softball Southeastern Region Tournament.

Team Georgia will open against Florida July 27 at 2 p.m at Little League Southeast Region Park in Warner Robins. Admission is free for all games at the region tournament.

Dudley Little League is the District 5 representative in baseball’s state tournament next week in Cartersville.
