Overturned tractor-trailer leaks ammonium nitrate in Baldwin County
Baldwin County Fire Rescue says the tractor-trailer overturned near the intersection of Allen Memorial Drive and Highway 49.

BALDWIN COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Emergency crews are responding to an overturned tractor-trailer carrying hazardous materials in Baldwin County.
Baldwin County Fire Rescue says the tractor-trailer overturned near the intersection of Allen Memorial Drive and Highway 49.
The truck is carrying approximately 11,000 pounds of liquid ammonium nitrate, which officials say is leaking. The tractor-trailer is also carrying blasting caps and boosters.
The roadway has been shut down as a precaution while emergency crews work to mitigate the incident.
Baldwin County Fire Rescue is working alongside Baldwin County Emergency Management, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, EMS and Old Capitol at the scene.
Officials are asking people to avoid the area of Allen Memorial Drive and Highway 49, use an alternate route and stay away from the incident scene while emergency crews work.
