Ohio State claims final playoff spot
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Big 12 Conference was snubbed Sunday.
The College Football Playoff selection committee chose Ohio State (12-1) for the fourth and final playoff spot after the Buckeyes’ 59-0 win over then-No. 13 Wisconsin in Saturday’s Big 10 Championship Game.
TCU (11-1), which was ranked third in last week’s poll, beat Iowa State 55-3 but fell three spots to sixth. Baylor (11-1) finished fifth after beating No. 9 Kansas State 38-27.
No. 1 Alabama meets No. 4 Ohio State on January 1 in New Orleans. No. 2 Oregon plays No. 3 Florida State in Pasadena on the same day.
