Northeast looking to regroup after 2013 playoff miss
On offense, the Raiders will have five returning starters to a group that scored 23 points per game, and will be moving wide receiver Tekorian Denson to the quarterback position, “I think he is a little bit further along than we thought,” Coach Mullen said about his new QB, “I think he’s going to make good things happen for the Raiders this year.”
Northeast held six opponents to ten points or less in 2013, a statistic that helped contribute to the team’s winning record, “Like I said, we always preach [defense], if the team can’t score, we can’t lose.”
2002 was the last time Northeast had a playoff win, but Mullen feels his players will be hungry to finally leap that hurdle, “I think they’re hungry because that’s something we talk about and constantly remind them… [they can] do something that hadn’t been done since I’ve been here.”
Southwest will be first up on Northeast’s 2014 schedule, on August 29th.
