North America’s largest Ferris Wheel comes to the Georgia National Fair
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The largest Ferris Wheel in North America is coming to the Georgia National Fair, it’s called the Mega Mile.
According to a news release from the fair coordinators, the 155 foot Ferris Wheel will be in the middle of the Fairgrounds at the West Gate entrance, facing Interstate-75. It will take five days to set up the new attraction. The process includes an 80-ton crane and 12 semis. The are more than 500 pieces, with the center axle weighing 6,600 pounds and the entire ride weighing over 400,000 pounds.
Once it’s done, it can hold 216 people at once. The cost to ride the Mega Mile is $5, and that is separate from the entrance fee.
