No. 8 Bobcats ranked second In Region Poll

INDIANAPOLIS (GC ATHLETICS) – The NCAA released its first Division II Softball regional rankings of the 2015 season Wednesday, April 15 and the National-No. 8 Georgia College softball team (39-7, 16-4 PBC) is slotted second in the Southeast Region.

The Regional Tournaments will take place May 8-10 with two branches hosted by the top two seeds in the region poll come season end. The poll will continue to be updated throughout the season and conference tournaments. If the season ended today, Georgia College would be hosting its first regional in school history.

Peach Belt Conference (PBC) foe the University of North Georgia currently occupies the top spot in the Southeast Region.

The Southeast Region is represented by the PBC, SAC and the Conference Carolinas (CC). Each conference tournament champion from the PBC, SAC and CC plus five at-large teams selected from the Southeast Region poll will compete for the region title.

Georgia College is in action Saturday, April 28 hosting Young Harris College in the last regular season home series of the year. First pitch for the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m.
