No. 8 Bobcat softball to host NCAA Regional

INDIANAPOLIS (GC ATHLETICS) – On the strength of a massive 44-9 season, the No. 8 Georgia College softball squad will host a site of the NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament, the NCAA offices announced Monday morning.

Georgia College finishes as the No. 2-seed in the Southeast Region, and will host Southeast Region Tournament #2 from May 8-10 at the Peeler Complex. The honor of hosting is a first in program history.

Action starts Friday at 4 p.m. as No. 3-seed GRU Augusta battles No. 6-seed Carson-Newman University. The Bobcats then host No. 7-seed Armstrong State University, the defending region champions, at 6:30 p.m.

The Bobcats earn a slot in the NCAA Regional for the eighth year, including the last three in a row.
