UPDATE: Man charged with murder after deadly shooting in Macon
Deputies say the victim was shot while inside a vehicle and later died from her injuries.

UPDATE (4:30 p.m.): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says 41-year-old Bobby Wesley Troutman is in custody in connection with a deadly shooting in Macon on Thursday.
According to an updated news release, the investigation revealed the victim, later identified as Quandrica Lashae Slater of McDonough, was shot at the intersection of Churchill Street and Brentwood Avenue while inside a white sedan. Witnesses told deputies the suspect was inside a dark pickup truck. An unidentified person drove Slater to Neighborhood Gas and Grocery, where 911 was called.
Deputies later spotted the suspect’s vehicle on Brentwood Avenue near Napier Avenue and stopped it. That’s when they took Troutman into custody.
He’s charged with murder and is being held without bond.
UPDATE (11:21 a.m.): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Napier Avenue.
The incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 10:13 a.m. Thursday. Deputies responded to Neighborhood Grocery, located at 3102 Napier Ave., after receiving a report of a person shot. According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, the shooting happened on Churchhill Street.
When deputies arrived, they found a 33-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken by ambulance to a local medical facility for treatment. Medical staff later confirmed that the victim died from her injuries.

When deputies arrived, they found an unidentified female suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken by ambulance to a local medical facility. Medical staff later reported that she remains in critical condition.

Investigators are on scene working to determine what led to the shooting. Authorities said the information released so far is preliminary and could change as the investigation continues.
