Motorcycle wreck leaves Macon man dead
FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Tuesday morning the Monroe County Sheriff’s office released information concerning a motorcycle accident near Highway 41 that left a 30 year-old man dead.
According to the release, at 6:30 a.m. on September 7, 2021, a passerby called the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and reported an unattended motorcycle lying on the side of the road on Highway 41N. Deputies arrived at the scene to find the wrecked motorcycle and the driver located close to the woodline. Early investigation shows that the motorcycle was travelling north on Highway 41 just south of Hill Road when the motorcycle left the road and struck a root in a ditch, ejecting the driver and causing the motorcycle to flip multiple times.
The release identifies the driver as 30 year-old Matthew Anderson, who was living in Macon, Georgia. He was pronounced dead on the scene, and the next of kin has been told.
The accident is still under active investigation.
