More than 100 people respond to Kumho Tire job recruitment search

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- More than 100 job seekers attended a recruitment fair today at Central Georgia Technical College, and they’re hoping to get a job at the new Kumho Tire manufacturing plant.

The company is looking to fill 10 to 15 managing and accounting jobs immediately.

The Georgia Department of Labor (DOL) is hosting the job interviews.

Director of Business Services (DOL) Linda Manis says the large crowd of applicants is a good sign.

“I feel really good about the crowd today,” says Manis. “Because I know we’re going to be able to help a lot of folks locally find jobs and also know that we’re going to be able to help Kumho find quality workers for their ramp up.”

Kumho Tire plans to hire more than 400 people. The plant will open between 2015 and 2016.
