Middle Georgia law enforcement train to combat animal cruelty
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Law enforcement in middle Georgia is gearing up to make sure the streets are protected when it comes to combating animal cruelty.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office along with Macon-Bibb Animal Welfare hosted a seminar teaching officers and other law enforcement personnel about proper procedures for investigations, current laws and the connection between animal fighting and other felony crimes.
Officials with the Humane Society say they want to make sure people are aware that animal cruelty is punishable in all 50 states as a felony offense.
